Sold Out at Southampton Sustainability Week!
We were delighted to provide an insight into the world of sustainable marine technology as part of Southampton Sustainability Week in October. There, our Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Dr Dennis Doerffel, delivered an inspirational talk at which he was able to raise awareness of Project.
During Southampton Sustainability Week we gave members of the public the opportunity to take to the water on our electric rib and step aboard the Venice Taxi Boat. Two days’ worth of tickets sold out almost immediately, prompting us to offer another day to our packed schedule! Nearly 40 people and two film crews got in on the action and, without exception, everyone was impressed by the rib’s performance and silence. Dennis explained the Venice Taxi Boat Hybrid System and answered any question. It was a perfect opportunity for us to inform and demonstrate the benefits of electric and hybrid vehicles of all types.

REAPsystems are contributing to a unique 3 x one-day marine workshop event in Southampton, UK. Our founder and technical director is presenting on the topic of: "Developing Hybrid COTS Solutions for Commercial, Leisure and Military Craft"
The workshop considers ‘new marine energy’. Presenters highlight how fuel can be saved, maintenance costs reduced and engine life extended. The Programme identifies hybrid opportunities and delivers valuable insight from first adopters in various sectors. Fast moving sessions focus on informal discussion and industry experience from subject matter experts.

REAPsystems is taking part and showcasing our electric rib and the hybrid electric Taxi Boat. It's time to kickstart the green revolution on water: Back in 2013 we launched an exciting new concept at the time - a fully electric boat RIB. Now in 2016 we are developing a clean and green hybrid electric engine, which can be dropped into existing and new boats, starting with a Venice water taxi.
