Dr Dennis Doerffel speaks to Share Radio about new automotive battery technology

There are reports that car maker Nissan struck a deal with the government about investing in battery technology , before deciding to invest in its Sunderland car plant in October last year. Business secretary Greg Clark has refused to be drawn, but did say that battery technology was an area where scientists and businesses could give the UK a competitive edge. It follows news that a mining firm hopes to extract lithium from Cornwall's hot springs, in order to serve the growing market.

Share Radio's James Brydges has been speaking to Dr Dennis Doerffel, founder of battery solutions provider REAPsystems.
