All safety and intelligent functionalities for managing large lithium-ion batteries are implemented in our range of BMS/CMC products. It is therefore not essential to use a BCU in every system. However, the BCU offers a range of important functionalities. Additionally, the BCU serves as a customisable interface between our BMSs/CMCs and the rest of the system. In certain cases, it can act as a generic electronic control unit on vehicle level.
