Project overview

REAPsystems is working with a small European manufacturer who is the first on the market to produce fast, affordable, electric leisure boats, with long cruising times. Carbon fibre construction ensures the boats are lightweight, and specific hulls, propellers and electric outboards unique to his product have been designed by the manufacturer.

Our solution

REAPsystems provided off the shelf BMS's, involvement in the integration process and provision of remote support 24/7. Working together with REAPsystems and the manufacturer is a local system integrator to support the manufacturer further with electrical issues.

Together, the team has designed a 'plug and play' battery system, and using special connection systems the manufacturer can now produce battery systems ranging from 48V to 200V. REAPsystems is pleased to be able to support such an innovative company that is constantly evolving in design and technology.

Key challenges

Due to the modular nature of this system it must be easy to configure for the customer. It is also a very versatile system, so there is no need for new battery system designs for the range of applications in use. A data logging system is incorporated to allow analysis of any problems that may occur. REAPsystems must also be able to provide compatible components in the future if the off the shelf BMS used in this system is updated and becomes incompatible.
