REAPsystems Ltd. is a forward-looking electronics business. Our main expertise is in battery systems with large lithium-ion cells. We gained several years of valuable experience with this latest battery technology in a range of applications, for example boats, underwater vehicles, stationary energy storage, military and high-end racing.
Now we make this know-how and technology available for the emerging electric and hybrid electric car industry.
REAPsystems' founder, Dr. Dennis Doerffel was conducting research at the University of Southampton, when his publication of test results with low-cost, large Li-Ion cells, created unexpected industry interest. REAPsystems Ltd. was founded in order to be able to respond to the enquiries and the development of our BMS was subsequently initiated. The company is based upon an excellent knowledge and understanding of Li-Ion batteries and continued development of products.
The core product is an off-the-shelf, modular, electronic battery protection and management system (BMS). This circuit monitors constantly the status of each cell in a battery and manages all relevant battery parameters such as temperature, cell voltages and current. It performs essential protection and cell balancing and it maximises the performance and life of the entire battery pack.
Our worldwide customer base includes cell manufacturers, vehicle manufacturers, R&D institutions and other innovative companies. Our technical support team will enable you to produce prototypes within very short timescales using our versatile and parameterisable off-the-shelf BMS. Based on your requirements we offer a customised solution for your series production. Alternatively we can design a custom BMS for you and also offer consultancy, complete battery prototypes or vehicle integration solutions.
