REAPsystems involvement REAPsystems is currently producing a 650V central battery management system for up to 168 cells using their off the shelf BMS. It plugs into 8 cell battery modules available from Kokam and can be used in larger vehicles, boats, submarines or cars. |

Key challenges of the project The high voltage, high power and high electrical raise levels are a challenge alone in this system and require an approach different to other, lower voltage systems. The large number of cells in the system also presents a challenge for battery management; REAPsystems' BMS is able to have the closed loop control at a speed equal to that of a system with a much smaller number of cells.
